Airbus demos first-ever autonomous teaming mission at European air show with Primoco UAVs

At ILA Berlin 2026, Airbus flew two real Primoco One 150 UAVs in Europe's first live, publicly broadcast autonomous multi-drone teaming demonstration at a trade show. Using its MARS autonomy system, the drones took off under pilot control, then handed over to autonomous mode to search for and visually identify a "follow me" car, splitting the mission area between them to work faster together. The demo showcased a system-agnostic autonomy "brain" intended to eventually enable Uncrewed Collaborative Combat Aircraft to team with crewed fighters like the Eurofighter.
