The ZEPU-AI4 multi-joint isokinetic training and evaluation system (also offered as the AI4S) is what Zepu calls the first bedside rehabilitation isokinetic robot. Using dynamic impedance control, the mobile unit combines isokinetic training and testing of joint range of motion and muscle strength with ten training modes in one machine, for a 'one-stop' musculoskeletal rehabilitation cycle, and can be wheeled to different rooms and beds. Five extenders - a steering-wheel, ankle, bowl, upper-limb and lower-limb attachment - lock on magnetically with one action; the robot recognises the attached part and proposes matching programmes, covering 23 kinds of training for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. Interactive virtual-reality training reacts to subtle changes in the patient. Zepu lists neurological conditions, disuse atrophy, post-operative and bedridden patients and sports injuries as applications. It is a registered Class II medical device in Shandong province, intended for use in medical institutions by qualified staff rather than for personal use.
