DESCRIPTION
Vitestro Aletta is a Medical-Robots from Vitestro. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Diagnostic venous blood collection (phlebotomy) in hospital labs and clinics. Key figures: released 2026.
Aletta is Vitestro's Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy Device: a tabletop robot that performs a complete diagnostic blood draw, from applying the tourniquet to placing the bandage. It finds a suitable vein with combined near-infrared and ultrasound imaging, checks with Doppler ultrasound that the target is a vein and not an artery, then positions and inserts the needle with sub-millimetre precision, changes and inverts the collection tubes and applies a bandage. One trained phlebotomist is meant to supervise up to three devices. In the European A.D.O.P.T. trial published in Clinical Chemistry in 2026, Aletta achieved a 94.5% first-stick success rate, 90% of patients rated pain as less than or similar to a manual draw and mild adverse events occurred in 0.6% of cases. Aletta is CE marked, was granted FDA De Novo authorisation in August 2026, and is in use or study at OLVG Lab, St. Antonius, Result Laboratorium and Amsterdam UMC in the Netherlands, with Mayo Clinic, Baylor Scott & White and Northwestern Medicine as US research collaborators.
