DESCRIPTION
Vanar Generation 1 is a Humanoid from Vanar Robots. It is built for General-Automation, Lifting, Material-Handling. Key figures: 60 kg, 38 degrees of freedom.
Vanar Generation 1 is a full-size bipedal humanoid robot being developed by Vanar Robots in Mumbai for industrial material and package handling. It is designed to work inside facilities as they are already built, using existing tools and infrastructure instead of requiring the site to be adapted to the machine. The robot stands 5 ft 9 in (about 1.75 m) tall, weighs about 60 kg and has 38 degrees of freedom. Vanar builds the structure, actuators, manipulators and software in-house; the actuators are a proprietary full-stack design, and the hands are tendon-driven, high-payload manipulators with an opposable thumb. The company publishes its development milestones, which so far include initial locomotion on a support gantry, the opposable-thumb manipulators, material handling and package handling. It is taking requests for a limited industrial beta deployment planned for 2027, in which units will be placed with selected industrial partners.
