V1800 is Invert Robotics' V-series vacuum climbing robot for inspecting non-magnetic assets of 1,800 mm diameter or more. It climbs smoothly on non-ferrous materials, needs no external air or vacuum system, and can be set up and in an asset in under 30 minutes. An operator controls it remotely from a safe distance, so no one has to enter the confined space. It reaches 200 mm/s and carries a 5 kg payload, with tooling for visual, ultrasonic, spark and laser inspection. Visual inspection uses a 30x zoom camera that Invert says finds 65-micron defects up close, while the laser scanner builds a 3D surface profile with a reference resolution of 4 µm. Multiple adhesion systems keep it safe even during power loss.
