DESCRIPTION

TMINI is a Medical-Robots from THINK Surgical. It is built for Medical-Assistance, Surgery, Total knee replacement (TKA). Key figures: released 2023.

The TMINI Miniature Robotic System is THINK Surgical's wireless, handheld robot for total knee replacement. Before surgery, THINK's TPLAN software turns the patient's CT scan into a three-dimensional surgical plan; in the operating room the surgeon holds the miniature robotic handpiece, which automatically compensates for the surgeon's hand movement to place bone pins along the precisely planned planes. Cutting guides are then fixed to the pins for accurate bone resection, so the system replaces many of the manual instruments normally used in the procedure. Overhead active tracking keeps the patient fully accessible and lets TMINI fit into existing operating rooms with a small footprint, and the TMINI PRO workflow lets surgeons assess soft-tissue balance in real time and adjust implant position during surgery. Unlike robots tied to one implant maker, TMINI is an open platform whose implant library includes Zimmer Biomet Persona, Medacta GMK Sphere and SpheriKA, LINK LinkSymphoKnee, Maxx Freedom, b-ONE MOBIO and Stryker Triathlon knees. The handpiece was designed with Sagentia Innovation; TMINI received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2023, was first used at Washington Hospital in Fremont, California, and had been used in more than 5,000 knee replacements by May 2026.
