DESCRIPTION
Tek RMD M1 is a Medical-Robots from Matia Mobility. It is built for Rehabilitation, Helping, Transport. Key figures: 118 kg, 120 kg payload, price $29,998, released 2015.
The Tek RMD M1 is Matia Mobility's electric lift and standing mobility platform for people who cannot stand or walk, such as people with spinal cord injuries, paralysis, multiple sclerosis or muscular dystrophy. The user boards from the back, and an electric lift raises them from sitting to a supported standing position; they can then drive it with a joystick, at eye level and with hands and arms free, through homes, offices, schools and shops, including places too narrow for a standard wheelchair. Leg strength or the ability to stand unaided is not required. With indoor wheels its footprint is only 42 x 75 cm, and an optional outdoor kit (60 x 103 cm footprint) adds larger tyres for sidewalks, paths, grass and gravel and slopes up to 6 degrees. It reaches 4.7 km/h with standard wheels or 5.6 km/h with large wheels, covers about 7.7 km per charge from two 12 V lead-acid batteries that recharge in 4.5 hours, weighs 118 kg and suits users 140-190 cm tall weighing 40-120 kg. When not in use it can be driven out of the way by remote control. Debuted in 2015 and made in Salt Lake City, the M1 is patented, CE marked and FDA 510(k) cleared, and is covered by the US VA and some insurers.
