DESCRIPTION

SSI Piece Picking is an Industrial-Robot from SSI SCHAEFER. It is built for Pick-and-place, Picking, Automated single-item picking of small parts with scan and weight verification.

SSI Piece Picking is SSI SCHAEFER's fully automated robot solution for picking single small parts, aimed at industrial, e-commerce, pharmaceutical and cosmetics logistics. At its heart is a new gantry robot that picks up to 1,200 items an hour around the clock. Instead of finger grippers the portal robot uses compact suction cups, so it can reach every corner of a container and pick even the smallest parts, and it adjusts its speed to each product. A patent-pending gripping-point optimisation shifts the grip so barcodes stay visible, letting the control scanner read more than 99% of products on the first attempt. It places each item as close as possible to the bottom of the container or on top of items already there, for gentle handling of delicate pharmaceuticals or luxury cosmetics and good fill levels. AI-based object recognition with integrated scanning and weighing verifies every pick, and automatic error correction resolves problems such as unreadable barcodes inside the cell. It handles cubical, cylindrical, tube-shaped and blister packs and improves through machine learning. The pre-assembled unit runs with SSI SCHAEFER's WAMAS software and combines with its pick stations, SSI Cuby and SSI Flex i shuttles, conveyors and A-frames; a modified version loads SSI Carrier pouch-sorter pouches.
