SAM-UVC is an autonomous disinfection robot that uses germicidal UV-C light to treat surfaces in hospital rooms, hospital pharmacies and GMP cleanrooms. Staff clean the room first, place the robot inside and leave it to work. It maps each room, calculates its path in real time and adapts when the layout changes. Loop Robots says SAM disinfects a single-person hospital room within 12 minutes and a typical 25 square metre class B, C or D cleanroom within 15 minutes. The method is dry and chemical-free, leaves no residue and lets the room be used straight away. Each run produces a digital report for audits, and the company says germicidal UV-C eliminates 99.999% of pathogens on environmental surfaces.
