DESCRIPTION

ROBO Rook is an Industrial-Robot from Nakanishi Metal Works (NKC). It is built for Intralogistics, Lifting, Material-Handling. Key figures: 260 kg, 240 min runtime, 1000 kg payload.

ROBO Rook is NKC's low-profile AGV for carrying roll cages and carts of up to 1 tonne. At only 180 mm tall it drives under a cart, raises it 40 mm on its lift and carries it away, and its small body and spin turn reach spaces forklifts cannot. Its selling point is 'triple control': it can follow magnetic tape, navigate by laser SLAM, or read QR codes, switching between them along one route. Tape gives fixed, precise paths and works on slopes such as drainage gradients at doorways; SLAM covers steel mezzanines and pit covers where tape cannot be laid and areas where tape wears out; QR codes mark stop points, junctions and speed changes. Stop accuracy is +/-10 mm on tape and +/-25 mm under SLAM. The 500 kg and 1,000 kg versions share a 1,350 x 850 x 180 mm, 260 kg body with differential-drive steering and travel at 60 m/min. A laser range finder scans 180 degrees front and back horizontally, so it still sees obstacles when under a cart, and a PLC sequence controller runs it. The 26.4 V / 35 Ah battery lasts about 4 hours at full load, recharges automatically in about 30 minutes and is rated for more than 14,000 full cycles.
