DESCRIPTION

The Auriga Pole Reel is a laser guided vehicle patented by OCME exclusively for handling industrial reels, aimed at manufacturers of flexible packaging material. It grips a reel two ways. The first joins the forks together so they enter the core of the reel and lift it for movement through the production area. The second lifts the reel on a bar inserted through its core. The vehicle is built for precision and can also serve shelving up to 9 metres high. It carries a maximum unit load of 1,000 kg, stands 3,500 mm tall, lifts to 6,000 mm with a maximum mast height of 6,670 mm, and has 1,150 mm forks. It is a laser guided vehicle: a laser scanner reads reflectors placed around the building to fix its position, so routes are defined in software and can be changed without re-laying floor guides. Battery options run to waterless lead-acid, gel and pure-lead Nexsys packs, with automatic, manual or opportunity charging, and the fleet is coordinated through OCME's supervisor and warehouse management system.
