DESCRIPTION

Oceaneering NEXXUS ROV is a Marine from Oceaneering International. It is built for Construction, Manipulation, Inspection. Key figures: 4750 kg, 455 kg payload.

NEXXUS is a high-power heavy work-class ROV that exceeds API Standard 53, the peer-reviewed standard for blowout-preventer (BOP) intervention tooling, built for the most demanding intervention tasks. It makes full power available for ROV tooling, with high-pressure, high-flow tool control that Oceaneering describes as unmatched. The 4,750 kg vehicle measures 3.2 x 1.7 x 1.9 m, is rated to 3,000 m (4,000 m optional) and carries a 455 kg payload. Two 125 hp hydraulic power units drive four 380 mm vectored horizontal and four vertical thrusters for about 1,050 kg of forward and lateral and 1,400 kg of vertical thrust. Tooling supplies run to 10 gal/min at 15,000 psi, over 60 gal/min at 5,000 psi (API S53 compliant) and 90 gal/min at 3,000 psi from a reservoir of more than 200 gallons, with 40 cubic feet of tooling space and two 7-function proportional manipulators. It adds autonomous control and hands-free piloting to fly-by-wire station keeping. It is a side-entry cage (or top-hat) deployed, dual-manipulator heavy work-class ROV with a fly-by-wire station-keeping system, auto heading, depth and altitude, and cruise control, a survey-grade gyro, high-resolution Digiquartz depth sensor and Doppler velocity log, and Kongsberg 1071/1171 or Tritech SeaKing obstacle-avoidance sonar. Cameras run from SD and HD to optional 3D HD, lit by up to eight 250 W lamps, and data links include RS232/RS485, Ethernet and optical fibre. Launch and recovery options include A-frames with or without a docking head, heavy-weather overboarding systems, cursors and heavy-lift winches.
