The Lombrico X FTC Ex-0 (Fuel Tank Cleaning) is an ATEX and IECEx Zone 0 certified, hydraulically operated mini robot for the periodic cleaning of underground diesel and petrol tanks at fuel stations. It enters manholes as small as 400 mm, climbs over obstacles up to 150 mm such as tank reinforcement rings, and is remotely controlled through umbilicals of 25 to 100 m. An arm with three rotating nozzles, adjustable horizontally or vertically, delivers 65 l/min at 250 bar to wash the whole inner surface of the tank after spraying a degreaser, while an 80 mm suction hose removes the material from the bottom; Zone 0 cameras, adjustable LED lights and a pan-tilt arm at the manhole let the operator inspect the walls in the same pass.
