DESCRIPTION
Sea Archer is Leidos' mission-configurable small unmanned surface vessel (SUSV), built for contested surface environments. Leidos describes it as delivering persistent ISR integrated into distributed maritime operations — "extending fleet reach without extending risk to sailors". It runs 40 knots, has a range of 1,500 nautical miles and carries 900 kg of enclosed payload. That payload bay is what makes it mission-configurable: Leidos lists logistics resupply, ISR and electromagnetic deception as the roles it supports. LAVA, the Leidos Autonomous Vessel Architecture, is the company's own autonomy stack — full autonomy covering navigation, obstacle avoidance and mission execution without human intervention, modular across vessel types, and proven in blue water. Leidos has described Sea Archer as its newest unmanned surface vessel and as poised for mission tests and high-volume production.
