DESCRIPTION
The Knowin-X1 is a foldable dual-arm home robot, and the folding is the point: it collapses to under 40 cm for storage and unfolds to a 1.4 m body with roughly 1.8 m of operating height, so it disappears into a room rather than occupying it. Twenty-three whole-body degrees of freedom include fourteen in the arms — seven each, fully self-developed — with about 680 mm of reach per arm, a 4 kg peak payload and 1.5 kg rated for continuous work. It moves on a compact 490 by 450 mm dual-wheel differential chassis that rotates in place and travels at up to 1.2 m/s. What Knowin is really selling is the software: a generative embodied large model split across KnowinBrain, KnowinWorld, KnowinAct and KnowinAgent, which together decompose long-horizon jobs, plan them and correct from feedback — tabletop tidying, loading a washer or dryer, fetching and delivering items. Vision, depth and LiDAR fuse into real-time mapping with centimetre-level multi-layer obstacle avoidance, force-controlled arms and collision limits handle physical safety with a hardware emergency stop behind them, and data stays local through on-device encryption and offline processing. Around eight hours of runtime with automatic recharging is enough for a full day at home.
