DESCRIPTION

Kilter AX-1 is an Agricultural-Robots from Kilter. It is built for Agriculture, Spraying, Precision spot weeding in vegetables, herbs and row crops on flat fields or raised beds. Key figures: 300 kg, price €130,000.

The Kilter AX-1 is an autonomous weeding robot for vegetables and herbs that moves selectivity from the chemistry to the software. Cameras image the bed as it drives, deep-learning models tell crop from weed in real time, and patented nozzles fire micro-droplets of herbicide, typically the bio-herbicide pelargonic acid, onto each weed with 6 x 6 mm accuracy without touching the crop. At around 5% weed pressure Kilter reports an average 96.6% cut in herbicide input, and treatment can start earlier than with broadcast spraying. The robot is built on a modular, lightweight frame tailored to each farm's bed layout, with a distributed dry weight of about 300 kg to limit soil compaction, a 50-litre tank and a working rate of about 1 ha per hour. It navigates by RTK GPS over NTRIP along the logged wheel tracks, needs an internet connection in autonomous mode and is designed for round-the-clock operation on flat fields or raised beds of high-value crops.
