KARMI-Bot is Asimov Robotics' robot for quarantine and isolation wards, built to keep health workers out of infected areas. It navigates the ward autonomously to transport and dispense food and medical supplies to patients, carrying up to 20 kg at up to 1 m/s, and can also be driven remotely. A screen and camera let patients talk to caregivers by video conference from a remote location, and the robot can engage patients during visits. Options include a detachable container that disinfects used items with UV light on the way back to base, electrostatic-spray disinfection and self-charging. It is light and compact enough to transport in a hatchback.
