The Jaguar Arm is Dr Robot's rugged 3+1-DOF manipulator for compact mobile robots such as the Jaguar 4x4, Jaguar Lite and Jaguar V2. Built mainly from aluminium, it weighs under 10 kg, reaches over 710 mm, lifts 4 kg at maximum reach and has a 150 mm gripper opening, with low energy consumption and an optional 640 x 480 wrist camera for close-up inspection; arm options include infrared and white LEDs, a dust blower, a laser scanner and other sensors. Integrated software provides independent joint-space control and Cartesian gripper control; while it has only three rotation joints plus the gripper, combined with the Jaguar robot's motion it can reach virtually any position and orientation in its workspace, and it can also serve as an articulated sensor platform.
