DESCRIPTION
Hadaly-2 is a humanoid robot developed at Waseda University for research into human-robot collaboration, named by the Humanoid Robotics Institute as one of the milestone machines in the university's humanoid lineage alongside WABOT-1, WABOT-2 and WABIAN. It was built around the idea of a robot that works together with a human partner - sharing the same working space, and communicating through speech, facial expression and body movement rather than through special training or a dedicated interface. Waseda's Harmonized Human Machine Environment Laboratory developed Hadaly's robot vision system, based on a three-dimensional model of the surrounding environment.
