DESCRIPTION

The RXR-Q200L is a pump on wheels that can swim. Its amphibious all-terrain wheeled chassis travels on muddy and low-lying roads and into water, and its dual-row high-flow axial pumps move up to 720 cubic metres an hour — 200 litres a second — lifting six metres and drawing from as shallow as 220 mm, or 120 mm with the interchangeable elbows fitted. That last figure is what makes it useful in a flooded basement or underpass where the water is too shallow for a conventional pump to prime. It drags its own hoses up to 300 metres into flooded areas, so the machine goes to the water rather than the crew carrying suction lines in. An imported engine and hydraulic motor drive it, the turning radius is extremely small for on-the-spot turning, and it handles particles up to 25 mm so debris-laden flood water does not block it.
