DESCRIPTION

GaugeRover is an Industrial-Robot from Octobotics Tech. It is built for Mapping, Inspection, Scanning.

GaugeRover is Octobotics Tech's magnetic inspection crawler for ship hulls, storage tanks and pipelines. A tracked base with magnetic adhesion climbs vertical steel and spherical tanks and crosses 90-degree bends, carrying an articulated arm with a phased-array ultrasonic probe and surface preparation tool so it can take thickness readings on corroded plate, grid-map corrosion and scan welds in spaces too dangerous or inaccessible for human inspectors. Data feeds the company's own analytics for corrosion and weld assessment. The Noida company says the crawler is no larger than a toolbox and works wirelessly in explosion-risk environments, with IECEx and ATEX certification under way and approvals from RDSO and Class NK. It reports hundreds of operational hours for the Indian Navy, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL and L&T Heavy Engineering, plus work for Saudi Chevron and ship managers in Singapore, Greece and the Middle East, sold mainly as a per-inspection service. In February 2026 Octobotics raised a INR 10 crore seed round led by Navam Capital with BYT Capital. First-generation Octobotics crawlers average about 37 kg; the company announced a sub-15 kg modular platform for August 2026, and its site now lists the TrackSense, WeldSense and PA Rail Scan products that succeed it.
