DESCRIPTION

F.ROBO CLEAN is a Cleaning-Robots from Figla. It is built for Cleaning, Dry vacuuming of common areas. Key figures: 29.5 kg, 120 min runtime, released 2009.

F.ROBO CLEAN is a vacuum-type commercial cleaning robot developed by Figla, a Tokyo maker better known for cosmetics and specialty glass. First shown as a multi-purpose cleaning robot at Expo 2005 Aichi, it was refined through field trials and went on sale in 2009, and has been used at Haneda Airport and other airports, office buildings, hospitals, city halls, libraries and shopping facilities. Figla has since ended new sales. The robot needs no added building infrastructure: it measures its distance to walls with sensors and drives a route programmed in advance, stopping or steering around people and obstacles, cushioning any contact with a bumper sensor and announcing itself by voice. It is started with an 'execute' button on a simple remote. Its batteries come out, so a spare set keeps it running beyond the roughly 2 hours of one set, and it splits into three units - drive base, suction tank and intake nozzle - for maintenance. Two types were sold: a 750 mm nozzle model measuring 756 x 646 x 647 mm and weighing 29.5 kg with batteries, and a 500 mm nozzle model, 510 mm wide and 28.2 kg. It cleans about 850-1,000 m2 an hour, charges in about 2.5 hours and holds 4 litres of dust. In the Tokyo Building Maintenance Association's 2017 benchmark it matched Amano's RcDC on time but needed the maker to program its routes.
