DESCRIPTION

Flying Autonomous Robot is an Agricultural-Robots from Tevel Aerobotics Technologies. It is built for Agriculture, Data Collection, Picking.

Tevel's Flying Autonomous Robot (FAR) is a tethered fruit-picking drone that harvests orchards from the air. Several FARs are connected by tethers to a ground unit in the orchard row that carries the fruit bins; each drone flies in and out of the canopy, finds fruit with computer vision, judges its ripeness and colour, picks it with minimal bruising and places it in the bin. Tevel says it is the only flying robot designed to physically interact with foliage and fly continuously into trees without harm, and that it can harvest fruit from a 50 g apricot to a 700 g apple, around the clock. Guidance and control algorithms - perception and fruit tracking, vision-based detection and classification of fruit and foliage, trajectory planning, and balancing algorithms that stabilise the drone against forces from branches and fruit - run alongside fleet-management software that optimises the harvest from orchard data. Every fruit picked is logged with its weight, size, colour grade, disease detection, timestamp and geolocation, giving growers real-time data on each bin before it reaches the packing house. FARs harvest apples, peaches, apricots, nectarines, plums and pears for growers in Italy, the United States, Chile and Israel.
