FarmDroid FD20 is an Agricultural-Robots from FarmDroid. It is built for Agriculture, Spraying, Precision seeding and herbicide-free weeding of sugar beet, onion, chicory, vegetables and herbs. Key figures: 1250 kg, price €75,000–€95,000, released 2020.

The FarmDroid FD20 is a solar-powered field robot that both sows and weeds row crops without herbicides. While seeding it records the position of every seed with RTK GPS to about 8 mm, then returns to those coordinates to hoe between the rows and between the plants in the row, so it needs no cameras or weed recognition and can start weeding before the crop has emerged. An optional +Spray system micro-sprays plant protection only where needed, which FarmDroid says cuts chemical use by up to 94%. Four solar panels (1.6 kWp) charge its 6 kWh batteries for 18 to 24 hours of field work a day, and an optional Power Bank adds up to 12 hours in poor weather. The robot weighs 1,250 kg, works 2 to 12 rows across up to 3.5 m at a steady 950 m per hour, covers up to 6 ha a day and is recommended for about 20 ha per crop per season. It handles more than 100 crops, from sugar beet and onion to chicory and herbs; first units were sold in 2020 and more than 500 now work in 26 countries.
