ADR Explora teleremote underground mining robot

DESCRIPTION

Explora is an Industrial-Robot from Australian Droid + Robot. It is built for Mapping, Surveying, Inspection.

Explora is Australian Droid + Robot's rugged six-wheeled teleremote ground robot for remote data acquisition in underground mines. It lives permanently in a rugged subterranean docking shelter at the heart of the operation and is deployed by teleremote control into hazardous or unsupported zones - unbolted brows, post-blast areas and active autonomous-fleet zones between mucking passes - so surveyors and geotechnical engineers do not have to enter, and production does not have to stop. It captures high-definition 3D LiDAR mapping (drawpoint geometry in minutes), thermal imaging, visual scanning and rock-fragmentation data, then returns to its dock to charge automatically and upload at high speed, where an integrated air-wash removes mud and dust from its sensors. Uses include underground mapping and surveying, geological mapping, geotechnical and 3D convergence monitoring, autonomous-area clearance, communications recovery for stranded autonomous machines, asset inspection and blast re-entry inspection, with data synced to ADR's BEACON dashboard for TARP compliance. ADR's Explora XL robots inspected the collapsed Lhoist limestone mine in Tennessee in 2021, streaming video at up to 80 Mbps from 1.7 km underground.
