DESCRIPTION

Ekso Indego Personal is a wearable powered exoskeleton from Ekso Bionics that lets people with spinal cord injury stand and walk at home and in the community, rather than only inside a clinic. It is the personal-use counterpart to the therapy systems used in rehabilitation, intended for patients who qualify once their rehabilitation is complete. The design is lightweight, modular and quick-adjust: the device can be fitted in under five minutes, and because it comes apart into sections it can be carried and stored by the user rather than needing a clinic to house it. Ekso specifies a user weight limit of 250 lb and a user height range of 5 ft 1 in to 6 ft 3 in. In the United States it is pursued through Medicare and Veterans Affairs funding pathways, which is the route most personal users take to obtain one. Detailed performance figures are published in Ekso's technical brochure rather than on the product page.
