Ecoppia E4 is a Cleaning-Robots from Ecoppia. It is built for Cleaning, Monitoring, Nightly water-free cleaning of fixed-tilt solar rows. Key figures: released 2014.

The Ecoppia E4 is Ecoppia's original autonomous, water-free robot for cleaning fixed-tilt utility-scale solar rows. Each robot travels along its row on a rigid aluminium frame and uses gravity from the panels' tilt, controlled airflow and soft microfibre to push dust down and off the modules every night; Ecoppia reports it removes 99% of panel dust daily. It supports framed and frameless panels and adds no load to the panel surface, and its control system integrates real-time and forecast weather data to schedule cleaning. Like Ecoppia's other robots it works without water, operators or grid power: an on-board solar module charges its batteries between runs, it self-cleans its own panel and microfibre elements, and cleaning can be started or cancelled remotely through Ecoppia's cloud platform, which also streams alerts, dashboards and predictive-maintenance data. In 2014 almost 100 E4 robots made Ketura Sun in Israel's Negev the world's first autonomously cleaned utility-scale solar park, and the E4 has since been deployed across India - including Fortum projects at Pavagada and Bhadla - with mass production near Chennai from 2016. PI Berlin certified it for long-term use on panels from nine major module makers, it is certified by First Solar, Trina Solar and JA Solar, and it won a 2017 Silver Edison Award. Ecoppia's site lists it as the E4/E4+ for fixed-tilt installations.
