DESCRIPTION
Earth Rover CLAWS is an Agricultural-Robots from Earth Rover. It is built for Agriculture, Data Collection, Mapping. Key figures: 720 min runtime.
CLAWS (Concentrated Light Autonomous Weeding and Scouting) is Earth Rover's battery- and solar-powered field robot that kills weeds with light instead of herbicide. Proprietary AI models pick out each weed from the crop and its Lightweeder fires a concentrated pulse of light at the weed's growing point (meristem), destroying it without disturbing the soil or damaging surface roots; independent tests by Niab confirmed it controls several weed types, including ALS herbicide-resistant weeds. The method is covered by US patent 12,185,712 and EU patent application EP 21 811 480.9. Eight built-in stereo cameras let CLAWS index the location and size of every plant as it drives, building a digital replica of the field in Earth Rover's FIELD software for crop maps, health and growth data. It steers along crop beds with centimetre accuracy using RTK satellite navigation, works day and night, and is offered through a Pioneers pilot programme for the 2026 season with guaranteed weeding efficacy above 80% and about 1 ha a day, with AI models for lettuce, brassicas, carrots, onions and tree seedlings.
