DESCRIPTION
The MV-4 is DOK-ING's best-known machine and the one most mine-action programmes mean when they say 'the DOK-ING'. It weighs about 6,120 kg, measures 4,635 by 2,030 by 1,740 mm, and is driven by a 186 kW (250 HP) engine making 1,050 Nm at 1,400 rpm on 15 to 25 litres an hour. Its value is the tool set. A flail clears up to 1,800 mm wide and 300 mm deep; a tiller clears 1,800 mm wide and 350 mm deep. For deep interrogation there is an EOD arm that lifts 400 kg and reaches up to 5.4 m. A dozer blade pushes 4 tonnes, a rotational gripper lifts 1,500 kg and pushes 5.5 tonnes, and a segmented roller of twelve rollers verifies a 2,070 mm path. All of it runs by remote control with the operator outside the danger area, which is the entire point: the machine takes the blast.
