DESCRIPTION
Cobot Proxie is a Collaborative-Robot from Collaborative Robotics (Cobot). It is built for Intralogistics, Material-Handling, Pick-and-place. Key figures: 100 kg payload, price $5,000, released 2024.
Proxie is Collaborative Robotics' deliberately non-humanoid mobile robot for moving carts, totes and materials through hospitals, laboratories, warehouses and factories. A four-wheel swerve drive (Glide 360) gives it pseudo-holonomic motion so it slides sideways and turns in place in narrow corridors, a patent-pending Cushion Ride suspension handles cracks and uneven floors, and a vertical lifting column with the Flex Grasp gripper grabs the handles of the carts a site already uses, so no new infrastructure is needed. The ScoutSense perception head sees the room from human eye level. Launched publicly on 20 November 2024 with Mayo Clinic and Maersk among the first customers, the second generation shown at Automate 2026 moves carts of up to 1,500 lb (680 kg), lifts up to 220 lb (100 kg) on its spine, swaps its own batteries for 24/7 operation, adds lidar for future safety certification and offers an optional two-arm (bimanual) manipulator that picks, places and restocks. Onboard NVIDIA Jetson modules run perception and task inference; AutoTasking lets the fleet work out from a SLAM map, whiteboards and workstation state which carts need moving and where, with no WMS integration, and the AWS-hosted Vista platform manages the fleet. By June 2026 Cobot reported 28 Proxie robots deployed with close to 13,000 operating hours, more than 22,000 miles travelled and over 154,000 carts moved; Owens & Minor is a featured customer. Gen 2 is orderable from US$5,000 per month.
FEATURES
- Glide 360: four-wheel swerve drive with pseudo-holonomic motion
- turns in place for narrow corridors
- Flex Grasp gripper on a vertical lifting column grabs existing cart handles, boxes and totes
- Moves carts up to 1,500 lb (680 kg)
- lifts up to 220 lb (100 kg) on the spine (Gen 2)
- ScoutSense perception system captures the environment from human eye level
- added lidar (Gen 2)
- Zero Charge hot-swappable batteries
- Gen 2 swaps its own battery for 24/7 operation
- Cushion Ride patent-pending suspension for cracks, bumps and uneven floors
- Task Touch: pause, resume and confirm tasks on the robot's own panel
- Optional Gen 2 bimanual manipulator (two arms) for pick, place and restocking
- AutoTasking: identifies and creates its own material-movement tasks with no WMS integration
- Vista fleet-management platform on AWS
- NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin onboard compute
- Gen 2: 40% fewer parts and a smaller footprint for tight hallways and elevators
- Works with the carts, trays and equipment already in the facility
