DESCRIPTION

B-Temia Keeogo is an Exoskeleton from B-Temia. It is built for Assistance, Medical-Assistance, Rehabilitation. Key figures: 6.8 kg, 240 min runtime.

Keeogo is B-Temia's smart powered knee orthosis - a lightweight lower-body exoskeleton, built on the company's Dermoskeleton technology, that supports walking and everyday movement for people with mobility impairments. It monitors the position of the lower body, interprets the wearer's intended movement and then uses motors at each knee to help complete it; it never initiates movement itself, so the user stays in control. It helps users walk farther and for longer, go up and down stairs, sit and stand, squat and kneel, and stand for longer, while bracing and unloading the knee. It is used for stroke, incomplete spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, knee and hip osteoarthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, myositis, muscular dystrophy and knee injuries. Keeogo is CE-marked for personal use in the community and FDA/CE cleared for professional use, where certified clinical partners use it to add strength and support during rehabilitation exercises and gait training. Users need some ability to walk and keep their own balance. Keeogo is worn on both legs over clothing, with a hip belt and knee actuators, and fits waists of 26 to 42 inches and users over 155 cm. A therapist adjusts the frame and programs assistance levels in configuration software - for example more strength on the weaker side - and the user can change assistance with a control unit; putting it on takes about 5 minutes. Swappable batteries last 1 to 4 hours depending on use and recharge in 1.5 hours, and a French distributor lists the device at 6.8 kg including batteries. Designed originally for military use, it can be worn outdoors in snow or light rain.
