DESCRIPTION
ANYmal X is the explosion-proof member of ANYbotics' quadruped inspection family, certified to work in the hazardous areas of Oil & Gas and chemical plants that ordinary equipment cannot enter. It is ATEX and IECEx certified up to Zone 1 IIB - the classification covering areas where inflammable gases are likely to occur - and is intrinsically safe, so it can be sent close to a live process area without an ignition risk or a hot-work permit. The robot is industrial-grade and impact-protected, IP67 rated against water and dust, and complies with CE directives for industrial deployment. Its four-legged, AI-driven mobility handles the places these plants are hardest to inspect: open grated stairs, cramped spaces, slippery and bumpy ground, and multi-floor layouts. ANYbotics reports it proven offshore on both fixed and floating platforms. The standard pan-tilt payload carries a 20x optical zoom camera, a thermal camera reading -10 to +400 degrees C, a spotlight for low light, a microphone for acoustic measurement in the audible range, and a 360-degree lidar scanner for localisation and navigation. An optional gas sensor payload continuously measures combustible and toxic gas concentrations, warning operators and letting them drive the robot to the source of an irregularity instead of sending a person in. Safety hardware includes a physical emergency stop, a warning light, carrying handles and a ruggedised control tablet.
