The EcoSurfer S2 works the one surface the submerged cleaners cannot: the top of the water, where leaves, pollen and insects land before they sink. It is solar-powered, and its SolarSeeker system is what makes continuous operation practical - when the battery runs low the skimmer drives itself to a patch of sunlight, takes a 15-minute charge and resumes, so cleaning does not stop to be plugged in. On adapter charging it holds 35 hours of battery life, enough to run day and night. Debris is drawn through a large suction port into a 4 L enclosed pull-out basket with a 150 micron fine filter, and an industry-first DebrisGuard aquadynamic baffle closes off the intake when the skimmer docks or reverses so the catch cannot wash back out. Two optical sensors handle obstacle avoidance and an anti-stranding design lets it free itself. It was the first surface skimmer with complete app integration, covering one-touch start and stop, custom schedules and remote control, and it carries a 3-inch chlorine tablet dispenser for continuous water treatment.
