DESCRIPTION

AiD-MC8 is a Security from AiDrones GmbH. It is built for Inspection, Monitoring, Patrol. Key figures: 8 kg, 5 kg payload.

The AiD-MC8 is AiDrones' electrically powered coaxial octocopter, an unmanned multirotor with eight rotors on four arms arranged coaxially for redundancy, built for applications that need automatic operation with electro-optical payloads. Made from lightweight carbon fibre, it folds for transport, resists rain and bad weather, and has a fully enclosed modular payload bay for sensor modules of up to 1.5 kg; interchangeable modules - a 10x zoom camera gimbal and a two-axis stabilised daylight-plus-thermal camera - clip into a quick-lock mount with a standard connector. Missions are flown autonomously by waypoint navigation from an Android phone or tablet: operators draw paths or drop waypoints, use curved, orbit and point-of-interest waypoints, generate survey patterns automatically, run Follow Me and scan large structures with an automated building-mapping function, with digital live video and telemetry. It measures 90 x 110 x 30 cm, has a maximum take-off weight of up to 8 kg and payload of up to 5 kg, flies at up to 40 km/h with a 4 m/s climb rate, a 4,000 m altitude ceiling and a 3 km mission radius, and operates from -10 to 35 C in winds up to 6 Beaufort, for security, inspection, surveying, mapping and environmental monitoring.
