YUNJI UP C40 is Yunji Technology's commercial floor-cleaning robot, and the pitch behind it is consolidation rather than autonomy alone: one machine that scrubs, sweeps, dust mops and vacuums, so a site does not have to buy, train on and maintain four separate devices. Switching between the four modes is a one-touch operation. It is a compact machine — 650 x 520 x 720 mm and roughly 110 kg — carrying a 16 L clean-water tank and a 1.5 L debris bin, with a 650 mm minimum turning radius that lets it work the aisles and corridors of shopping centres, supermarkets, offices, hotels and workshops. Yunji recommends it for areas below about 10,000 m2; larger sites are expected to run several units or step up to the UP C60. Navigation combines camera, ultrasonic sensors and radar for localisation and dynamic obstacle avoidance in spaces where people are moving. Two behaviours matter for unattended running: breakpoint resume, which returns the robot to where it stopped rather than restarting a task, and missed-area recleaning, which comes back to sections that were blocked when it first passed. An automatic service station handles charging, clean-water refill and wastewater drainage, and the robot returns to it on its own when the battery or clean water drops to about 10% or the wastewater tank fills — which is what makes 24/7 operation practical where the site allows it. It runs offline as well as connected: cleaning tasks and local app control work without Wi-Fi or a 4G SIM, while remote operation and log downloads need a network. Connected deployments add elevator and IoT integration for multi-floor work and a cloud management platform that turns cleaning records into coverage and utilisation reporting. The operating system and app platform are Android. The limits are stated plainly by the maker. Scrubbing is not suitable for carpet, cleaning on slopes is not supported (the robot may travel unloaded on gradients up to 8 degrees), and it is not designed for heavy oil contamination, scratch or tyre-mark removal, or sweeping oversized debris such as bottles, cardboard and large plant matter.
