Apricot AURA is an autonomous floor-cleaning robot used by Apricot Robotics of Bangalore in its Cleaning-as-a-Solution (CaaS) service for commercial and industrial buildings. The maker calls it a cobot and says it combines dry, wet and deep cleaning in one machine, can switch between cleaning modes, performs autonomous spot cleaning and cleans close to edges. The robot navigates on its own using LiDAR and a 3D camera together with ultrasonic, collision, cliff and touch sensors, detects obstacles down to 10 mm and recognises obstacle types to decide how to avoid them. It climbs slopes of up to 10 degrees. Through IoT integration it can operate e-gates and call elevators, and it reports to the cloud for real-time tracking. A large LED display on the front can run in-motion advertising. Apricot quotes a cleaning capacity of up to 17,500 sq ft per hour, about 2.45 lakh sq ft per day, and a runtime of 14 hours a day with two 3.5-hour battery charging cycles. The robot is not sold: clients pay for cleaning outcomes under the CaaS contract.
