The INSPECTOR Video and Laser Inspection Robot is a self-propelled pipe crawler for pipe systems with many bends, vertical sections and branches, in lines up to 500 m long. It is sold in seven sizes from Type 1000 to Type 7000, covering inner diameters from 75 mm to 1,200 mm. Three drive elements, each with two DC motors and joined by flexible bellows, reach 200 m/h horizontally and vertically, while rubber wheels pressed against the pipe wall by compressed air or springs give it grip. Its pan-and-tilt head carries a colour camera with 10x optical zoom and a ring of 24 or 48 LEDs. From Type 3000 upwards a point laser measures internal defects larger than 2 mm with accuracy better than 0.1 mm, and software calculates pipe profiles and ovality. Control runs through an electronic or glass fibre cable to a control unit and laptop.
