This is the humanoid Westlake Robotics builds to run its own foundation models on, and its proportions say what it is for: 1,345 mm and about 35 kg with the battery, which is child-height and light enough that a person can reasonably work beside it. It carries 29 joint-motor degrees of freedom with a 165 N·m knee, and lifts 3 kg at the end of a single arm. The engineering detail worth noting is the packaging rather than the numbers — cabling runs entirely internally with nothing exposed, and cooling is a localised hybrid air system, both of which matter on a machine that will be handled and demonstrated rather than fenced off. Perception combines stereo HD depth cameras with a 360-degree LiDAR positioning to within 5 cm RMS, fused with IMU and SLAM, and it carries a speaker and microphone array with an integrated large language model for interaction. Hardware expansion is by multi-interface support and the software updates over the air. What distinguishes it in practice is the stack above it: Westlake's GAE general motion model and WR1 whole-body model let it reproduce human motion capture in real time while holding its own balance.
