Type2 is MiraiKikai's dry-cleaning robot for ground-mounted mega solar farms, developed for the large plants of the Middle East and India. It is portable enough to need no rails or other installation work, and its main strength is crossing steps and gaps between panels on uneven ground while controlling its own posture. It cleans more than 2,160 square metres, about 400 kW of panels, per hour on tilts of 5 to 30 degrees, and MiraiKikai reports restoring soiled panels to 99% of their output in a trial at an Indian power plant. It runs 2 hours on a removable lithium-ion battery.
