IGRIS-C is a 154 cm, 56 kg bipedal humanoid built for working next to people indoors — in factories, warehouses, building sites, shipyards, labs and classrooms. The height is deliberate: small enough to move through the gaps a person moves through, and ROBROS has stayed with legs rather than a wheeled base so it can take slopes and stairs. It has 43 degrees of freedom: seven per arm, six per hand, six per leg, three at the waist and two in the neck. Compliant control absorbs an unexpected knock rather than resisting it, and force limiting, collision detection, an emergency stop and a collaborative mode back that up; the robot is rated to Industrial Standard Class A. Perception is RGB stereo with a depth camera, a six-axis IMU and joint encoders. It runs Linux with Cyclone DDS and C++ and Python APIs, supports reinforcement and imitation learning, and talks over Wi-Fi in access-point mode and BLE. Instead of a face it uses a head LED to signal what it is about to do. A 17,000 mAh 48 V pack charges directly in about two and a half hours. Each robot ships with a master arm — a teleoperation rig that maps an operator's arm movements onto the robot and collects imitation-learning data — a remote-control app for monitoring and joystick control, and ROBROS' own data platform for inspecting and labelling recorded episodes.
