The FlexArm 6X is Dr Robot's 6-DOF smart robotic arm for research, development and precision manipulation. It weighs 18 kg, reaches 500 mm, carries 3 kg nominal (4 kg at reduced speed), moves its joints at up to 180 degrees/s and its tool point at up to 2 m/s with +/-4 mm position accuracy, and is built from aircraft-grade aluminium with steel joints and ceramic hybrid bearings. An NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano with an FPGA-based motion controller runs joint-space, Cartesian and trajectory control, with force/torque sensing hardware for force control listed as not yet available; programming is through C++ and Python APIs, ROS 2, MATLAB/Simulink and Unity, with kinematics, trajectory-planning and vision libraries. A 1080p gripper camera, joint encoders, current sensing and collision detection support safety features such as teaching mode, reduced speed and virtual barriers, and it draws at most 80 W from mains power.
