Asimov 1 is an open educational humanoid robot from Menlo Research, built for builders, engineers and researchers who want to work with real hardware. Standing 1.2 m tall and weighing 35 kg with 25+2 degrees of freedom, it is delivered as a kit that owners assemble, customize and program themselves (100+ hours expected build time), learning whole-body control and locomotion along the way. The hardware is open by design with full access to every layer, and owners can run their own AI models and agents on the robot to validate them on real hardware. A free browser-based simulator, Digital Asimov, lets users explore the robot before building.
