ARGOS is Forssea Robotics' compact, all-electric observation-class (Obs-Class II) ROV for subsea survey and light intervention, designed to fly free from light opportunity vessels, unmanned surface vessels or fixed platforms. It has worked in oil and gas fields in Brazil, Malaysia and Angola and in European offshore wind farms in up to 120 m of water, and is offered worldwide under service or leasing agreements as a ready-to-dive spread: ROV, winch with 250 m tether, 15 kW power surface unit, pilot station and free-flying kit, packed on three 200 kg pallets. ARGOS is rated to 500 m (1,000 m optional), weighs 170 kg in air with payload, measures 1,100 x 790 x 684 mm and carries 20 kg of payload with a 60 kg through-frame lift. Six SPE-75 thrusters give 90 kgf forward thrust and speeds of 2.6 knots forward and 1.5 knots vertically. The survey configuration adds a pre-calibrated INS and DVL for advanced dynamic positioning, go-to mode with waypoints and visual docking, and it carries a Full HD camera on a tilt unit, four 4,800-lumen lights and frame- or skid-mounted tools such as sonar, CP, UT and FMD probes, manipulators, a cleaning brush, multibeam echosounder and pipe tracker. A secured web-based control system lets remote operation centres pilot it over satellite or 4G.
