BESCHREIBUNG
EXPLORER is Marsi Bionics' personal-use paediatric exoskeleton, which it describes as the first exoskeleton for children designed for everyday life rather than only the clinic. It helps children with neurodevelopmental disorders - cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophies, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury and others - walk with stability at home, at school, in the park and outdoors, and doubles as a companion-type wheelchair thanks to an integrated automatic ergonomic seat, making it a hybrid device. Motors mimic the function of natural muscles and joints, with active joints of variable stiffness, and operate in automatic mode or force-activation mode, walking forwards and backwards. Height control and fit adjust to each child and to growth, a safety walker frame provides stability, it is set up in 5 minutes and controlled from a mobile app, and its battery gives 6 hours of continuous use. Clinicians describe it as much lighter than clinical devices and ready for uneven terrain. EXPLORER has been validated in clinical studies with Nino Jesus, Gregorio Maranon, La Paz and 12 de Octubre hospitals in Madrid, within the ISCIII-CDTI personalised-medicine project IDI-20230070. It is pending CE certification; families can request a demo.
