The Remote Operated Buoy is a small remote-controlled rescue craft from Saif Seas for beach and sea lifesaving. A lifeguard switches it on and throws it into the water, then steers it out to a drowning person, who holds on and is driven back to shore, so no rescuer has to enter the water. The buoy weighs 12 kg, which keeps it easy to carry and launch by hand. Its radio link reaches 3 km as standard and can be extended to 10 km on request. The battery gives about 90 minutes of operation under moderate load plus 8 hours of GPS tracking, and recharges fully in 2 hours. Self-diagnostic software helps with troubleshooting, and the maker says no operator training is needed. Beyond lifeguarding, Saif Seas offers the craft as a customisable water drone that can be fitted with HD cameras, robotic probes or weapons for naval missions. The company says the buoy has saved four lives and has demonstrated it at Rushikonda Beach in Visakhapatnam.
