The MAG crawler is Deep Trekker's magnetic-wheeled utility crawler for inspecting steel surfaces that are hard to reach, such as ship hulls, vertical shafts and tanks. Rare-earth magnets in the wheels hold it to ferrous material so it can drive in any direction, including up walls and along hulls underwater, instead of setting up scaffolding, fighting currents or sending in confined-space specialists. It measures 710 x 406 x 228 mm, weighs 16.6 kg and is rated to 50 m, with a stainless steel, aluminium and acrylic build, two planetary gear motors on magnetically coupled final drives, a 360-degree turning radius and steerable, infinitely variable control with cruise control. Lithium batteries at 19.2 V power it, sensors report incline, roll and leaks, an enhanced 4K pan-and-tilt camera records the inspection, and attachments include thickness gauges, a pressure washer with elevating arm, a dozer blade and imaging sonar. A 6.2 mm tether up to 400 m with 150 kg breaking strength runs from an IP68 reel.
