The Armadillo 6X is Dr Robot's rugged tracked reconnaissance robot from its AIMechatronix line, built for challenging environments and complex manipulation in search and rescue, inspection and tactical operations. Its 6061-T6 aluminium frame rides on deep-lugged rubber main tracks driven by direct-drive brushless motors, with two independent 48 cm flippers that rotate 180 degrees; it reaches 2 m/s on flat ground, climbs 40-degree slopes and 30 cm steps and crosses 50 cm gaps, and it can right itself after a fall. A centrally mounted 6-DOF arm reaches 65 cm, carries 3 kg at full extension, rotates 360 degrees continuously and takes parallel or adaptive grippers and quick-change tools. Navigation and arm cameras (1080p), a 360 x 90 degree scanning LiDAR with 30 m range, a 9-DOF IMU, track-tension sensors and optional GPS feed an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano running ROS 2, which provides autonomous path planning, obstacle avoidance, terrain adaptation, waypoint missions, object detection and semantic mapping. A hot-swappable 22.2 V 20 Ah Li-ion pack gives about 4 hours of standard operation, Wi-Fi 6E links reach up to 1 km line of sight with optional radio, 4G/5G or satellite, and it is operated from a rugged tablet, laptop or optional VR interface.
