The VAC crawler is Deep Trekker's tank-cleaning robot for removing sediment from the floors of potable water storage tanks and towers without draining them or sending in divers, so utilities avoid losing large volumes of water. Vacuum hoses and attachments on the crawler pull sediment up to the surface while an enhanced 4K camera and 900-lumen lights show the pilot the tank floor. It measures 710 x 406 x 228 mm, weighs 15 kg and is fully submersible to 50 m, driving on rubber 2WD wheels at up to 12 m per minute with a zero turning radius, steerable and infinitely variable control with cruise control, and two planetary gear motors on magnetically coupled final drives. Lithium batteries at 19.2 V power it, sensors report incline, roll, leaks and camera pan and tilt, and a 6.2 mm polyurethane tether up to 400 m with 150 kg breaking strength runs from an IP68 reel. The system packs into two cases.
