描述

The TransitX S1 is a waist-worn powered exoskeleton - the company calls it a waist robot walker - aimed squarely at people with mobility difficulties rather than at athletes. Multi-modal sensors integrated into its motors and joints read the wearer's movement intent, force trends and body posture in real time, so assistance arrives with the step rather than after it: response time is under 0.05 seconds. A dual-motor system reduces the effort of walking by around 30 percent, and TransitX quotes 17 Nm of torque with an extended range of 12 km, enough to support higher-speed activity such as running. It weighs 2.4 kg, runs for three to four hours on a charge, is IP5X rated against dust, and fits wearers between 150 and 200 cm tall. TransitX sells it under the Heimgear brand.
