The TransitX S1 is a waist-worn powered exoskeleton - the company calls it a waist robot walker - aimed squarely at people with mobility difficulties rather than at athletes. Multi-modal sensors integrated into its motors and joints read the wearer's movement intent, force trends and body posture in real time, so assistance arrives with the step rather than after it: response time is under 0.05 seconds.
